He-Man Leaked Trailer Compared to Shazam, Jared Leto’s Skeletor Looks Good

Someone on Reddit says they got a sneak peek at an incomplete version of the Masters of the Universe trailer while at the movies, and shared their initial thoughts on what they saw.

The person stated they were contacted at the cinema and given complimentary tickets if they would watch and provide feedback on a short trailer displayed on a tablet. The trailer was for the new live-action He-Man movie.

The video was reportedly around 75% finished, featuring temporary visual effects, noticeable green screens, and security watermarks. Even so, the person who watched it described the trailer as strong and gave a hopeful initial glimpse into how Prince Adam transforms into He-Man.

Trailer Shows Prince Adam’s Origin Story

The viewer says the trailer starts with Prince Adam on Earth, chatting with a friend about Cringer, the green tiger. Then, Adam travels to Eternia and starts learning about his family history, potentially with help from the Sorceress. The trailer quickly cuts to different moments, showing Adam meeting the people of Eternia, brief looks at Evil-Lyn and Skeletor, and finally, him becoming He-Man. He transforms by lifting the Power Sword and declaring, “I HAVE THE POWER.”

The trailer wraps up with some fast-paced action scenes featuring He-Man. One Redditor pointed out that the movie really captures the He-Man vibe, and I agree! I think Nicholas Galitzine did a great job as Prince Adam, but honestly, I’d love to see him even more buff when he transforms into He-Man. Just my opinion, but a little extra muscle would be awesome!

Jared Leto’s Skeletor Makes an Impression

The post mentioned that a standout moment in the trailer was seeing Jared Leto as Skeletor. Although the character only appeared for a short time, those who saw it felt his look was convincing and true to the classic cartoon. It was hard to make out much of the dialogue because of where they were watching-a busy spot by the concession stand-but Skeletor’s visual design made a big impact.

Other characters, including Evil-Lyn and Man-At-Arms, were also seen, but it was difficult to get a clear look at the costumes due to watermarks and unfinished clips. The person watching mentioned that his wife especially liked the appearance of Man-At-Arms.

The trailer didn’t seem too intense or bleak; it felt like a blend of fantasy adventure and a fun superhero story.

This response confirms what Alison Brie, an actor in the film, recently suggested – that the movie isn’t as heavy or somber as some rumors have indicated. She essentially clarified that the tone isn’t overly serious.

Masters of the Universe is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 5, 2026. Travis Knight is directing the movie, based on a screenplay by Chris Butler, and Fabian Wagner – famous for his cinematography in Zack Snyder’s Justice League – is handling the visuals. Bill Bannerman, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, and Steve Tisch are producing this fresh adaptation of the classic Mattel franchise.

Nicholas Galitzine plays He-Man and Jared Leto is Skeletor. Camila Mendes is Teela, Idris Elba portrays Man-At-Arms, Morena Baccarin appears as the Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson plays Fisto, Jon Xue Zhang brings Ram-Man to life, and Stephen Adentan stars as Moss Man. Kristen Wiig provides the voice for Roboto.

Skeletor’s villains are played by Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, and Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man.

Completing the royal family of Eternia are James Purefoy, playing King Randor, and Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena. The cast includes Sasheer Zamata as Suzie and Christian Vunipola as Hussein, adding fresh faces to the world of Eternia alongside its beloved, established characters.
