Dominic McLaughlin, the actor chosen to play Harry Potter in the new HBO series, recently received a letter from Daniel Radcliffe and was thrilled about it.
Speaking to BBC’s “Saturday Mash-Up! Live,” McLaughlin called the moment “insane.”
McLaughlin said his dad handed him a letter on the train. When he read it, he was confused to see the initials ‘Dan R.’ at the bottom, but he tried to stay calm. He also mentioned that filming for the HBO series is progressing well and that he’s become friends with the cast and crew, enjoying his time on set.
Daniel Radcliffe recently told “Good Morning America” he wrote a letter to the new Harry Potter actor, wanting to offer support without being intrusive. He explained he wanted to wish the young actor well and express his hope that they enjoy the experience even more than he did. “I had a great time,” Radcliffe said, “but I hope you have an even better time.”
You know, seeing the photos of the new cast really hit me with a wave of nostalgia. It just reminded me how young we all were when we first started! Looking at them, I instantly wanted to give them a big hug and tell them how amazing it is they’re doing this at such a young age. It’s incredibly sweet, and I genuinely hope they’re having the time of their lives – it’s a special experience.
The HBO Harry Potter series is scheduled to premiere in 2027 on HBO and HBO Max.
