HBO’s Harry Potter Series Reportedly Auditioning Women for Voldemort Role

According to a recent report, the new HBO series based on *Harry Potter* might portray one of the most famous characters in a surprising new way.

According to entertainment reporter Daniel Richtman, producers are considering actors of any gender for the role of Lord Voldemort, opening the possibility of a female Dark Lord in future films.

A Different Take on Voldemort

Voldemort has always been played by Ralph Fiennes in the Warner Bros. movies and is seen as a male character. If the new HBO series casts a woman in the role, it would be a big change from how he’s been shown before and is likely to cause discussion among fans.

The selection of actors is still beginning, and no final choices have been made or publicly confirmed.

The news follows the controversial casting of Paapa Essiedu as Professor Severus Snape.
