The popular animated series Looney Tunes Cartoons is coming to an end on HBO Max. After being one of the streaming service’s longest-running original shows, it won’t be returning for new seasons.
Warner Bros. Discovery has signaled the end of the series by announcing a box set containing all six seasons. The show is also now listed as complete on various streaming and digital platforms.
As a big fan of the show, I remember reading back in 2023 that Peter Browngardt, the creator, said we only had a few episodes left, and that the final ones were planned for release that summer.
A new short, Daffy in Wackyland, debuted on HBO Max in June 2024, briefly exciting fans who hoped it meant more episodes were coming. However, the short’s distinct animation style led many to believe it was an older, unused project rather than a preview of future content.
Just before the show wrapped up, fans got one last gift: the movie The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie, released in 2025. The film continued the show’s playful style, bringing back beloved characters like Daffy Duck and Porky Pig for a hilarious, over-the-top sci-fi adventure.
Fans will be able to buy the complete Looney Tunes Cartoons series on DVD starting May 19th.
