HBO Max is clearly pleased with its medical drama, The Pitt, and has already ordered a third season – even before the second season begins airing.
HBO announced that season two of the show will premiere on Thursday. The news was shared by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and HBO Max, at a premiere event in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
The new season begins several months after the previous one ended, allowing the characters time to deal with the intense and traumatic events that happened at the hospital. Noah Wyle is back as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, once again leading the story.
The first trailer for ‘THE PITT’ Season 2 has been released.
Releasing January 8 on HBO Max.

As a big fan of compelling dramas, I was excited to learn more about the show’s origins. It was created by R. Scott Gemmill, who actually worked with one of the stars, Wyle, on ER – that’s a great pedigree! The cast is fantastic, including Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Sepideh Moafi. I was worried after last season, with some characters going through so much, but thankfully Katherine LaNasa (Nurse Dana Evans) and Patrick Ball (Dr. Langdon) are both returning for season two, which is a huge relief!
I was completely blown away when this series first came out. It really made a splash, and the awards confirmed it – Season one swept the Emmys, taking home five, including the big one for Best Drama Series! Noah Wyle was rightly recognized as the best actor, and Katherine LaNasa absolutely deserved her award for supporting actress. Those wins really solidified it as one of HBO’s biggest successes in recent years, in my opinion.
The series is a collaboration between John Wells Productions and Warner Bros. Television. R. Scott Gemmill, John Wells, Noah Wyle, Erin Jontow, Joe Sachs, Simran Baidwan, and Michael Hissrich served as executive producers.
