HBO Drops Trailer for ‘IT: Welcome to Derry,’ Coming This Fall

Recently, HBO unveiled a teaser for the forthcoming horror series titled “IT: Derry Welcome“, an adaptation of Stephen King’s renowned novel “IT“.

The production company Warner Bros. Television is responsible for creating this show, with Andy and Barbara Muschietti serving as its developers. These two have previously worked on both “IT” and “The Flash,” and they also collaborated with Jason Fuchs, who contributed to “Wonder Woman.” Notably, Andy Muschietti will direct four out of the nine episodes in this series.

The upcoming IT series set in Derry is slated for release later this year on HBO. The anticipated launch date falls within Fall, and it will also be streamable on Max. This new series takes place in the same universe as the IT films and continues the story begun in both IT and IT Chapter Two.

This production stars Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, Rudy Mancuso, and Bill Skarsgard.

Alexander Skarsgård, who portrayed Pennywise in the films, has expressed a blend of emotions about reprising his clown role. “To be honest,” he stated, “I felt like I had said my last goodbye to it, somehow.” He also mentioned that during this period, he was working on Nosferatu and playing Orlok, which made him feel that “This seems to mark the end of my monster character roles.” The pun was intended.

He stated, “I had moved on and was seeking new experiences. The Pennywise character also defined me for a long time, but I’m not that young man anymore. Barbara and Andy (the Muschetti brothers) are taking it up, and they’re dear friends, almost family. I’m even the godfather of their son. So, I thought, why not bring him back?

The hit show was developed by HBO and Warner Bros. Television. Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti’s Double Dream company, Jason Fuchs, Brad Caleb Kane, David Coatsworth, Bill Skarsgård, Shelley Meals, Roy Lee, and Dan Lin all serve as executive producers. Fuchs penned the premiere episode and works alongside Kane as co-showrunners.
