Harry Potter Star Sean Biggerstaff Compares JK Rowling to Andrew Tate for Making Anti-Trans Comments

Actor Sean Biggerstaff, known for playing Oliver Wood in the Harry Potter films, publicly criticized author J.K. Rowling over her opinions concerning the transgender community. On social media, he expressed his disapproval of Rowling’s celebratory post about a Supreme Court ruling in the UK. In his public statement, Biggerstaff labeled Rowling as an “overly preoccupied billionaire” and a person with bigoted views.

Despite Biggerstaff not being related to the author’s personal stance towards transgender individuals, he remains an active participant within the Harry Potter universe, attending fan gatherings and collaborating with fellow actors from the magical film series.

Additionally, the actor endorsed a user’s post that drew parallels between the famous writer and Andrew Tate, saying “chuckling over a cigar now? Are you Andrew Tate?” in essence.

In another post penned by Rowling, she posted a photo of Susan Smith and Marion Calder rejoicing over the ruling, and beneath the images, she urged people not to “mess with Scottish women.” Facing criticism from the author, Biggerstaff retaliated sharply. He wrote, “Most Scottish women who don’t concur with these troublemakers are not being financed by an obsessed billionaire.

While Biggerstaff defended his fellow Harry Potter cast members, he spoke up against a user who called Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint “ungrateful jerks” for not backing the author’s controversial opinions regarding the community.

All the Harry Potter films are available to stream on HBO.
