The forthcoming Harry Potter TV series is already generating significant buzz and anticipation, with many online discussions centered around predictions for its content, as fans eagerly speculate about what it may hold.

Without a doubt, the castings have been a hot topic for quite some time, with fans suggesting and debating potential choices. While we’ve received some confirmations so far, today brings a unique development in this ongoing discussion.

To clarify, it’s been officially announced that HBO has finalized six actors who will star in the upcoming series, and they will be playing staff members from Hogwarts. While some of these characters may be familiar to us, there are also some fresh faces among the cast list.

Currently, it’s officially revealed that John Lithgow will portray Albus Dumbledore, a fact we were already aware of given that Lithgow himself announced his role in the cast. This news has largely been met with positive reactions, albeit with some fans expressing concerns about Lithgow’s age.

Shortly following Lithgow’s appointment, whispers about Janet McTeer and Paapa Essiedu in negotiations to play Minerva McGonagall and Severus Snape, respectively, surfaced. We are now able to verify that they have both officially secured their roles.

Following speculation, it’s been rumored that Nick Frost might be taking on the role of Rubeus Hagrid. Although Frost hasn’t openly confirmed his casting, it’s official news as of today. This choice of casting has been warmly received by the fans.

Regarding the two new additions to our cast, Luke Thallon will portray Quirinus Quirrell, a significant character from the first book who won’t appear in future instalments. In contrast, Argus Filch is set to make appearances in later seasons, and we are pleased to announce that Paul Whitehouse has been chosen for this role.
