‘Harry Potter’ Rivals Reunite as Tom Felton Visits Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway After 24 Years

Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe, best known for playing enemies Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter, recently reunited in New York City. The actors, who first appeared together on screen almost 25 years ago, showed how close they are in real life during a backstage meeting on March 5th.

Jason Felton, age 38, recently went to see his former Harry Potter co-star, Daniel Radcliffe, 36, perform in his one-man Broadway show, Every Brilliant Thing. A sweet photo of the two actors hugging and smiling together was shared online.

You know, it’s really cool seeing what Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton are up to now. I just saw a post about it – it’s titled ‘Broomsticks to Broadway,’ and it struck me how different, yet similar, their careers are going. Daniel’s doing this really innovative, one-man interactive play, and Tom? He’s back as Draco Malfoy, but this time on Broadway in ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ as the grown-up version. It’s a neat parallel, seeing them both thriving in the theater world but in such different ways.

Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton continue a tradition of supporting each other’s work, with Felton recently attending a showing of Radcliffe’s filmed production of Merrily We Roll Along in December 2025. He’s also shown his support before, having been seen in the audience for Radcliffe’s 2018 performance in The Lifespan of a Fact.

Daniel Radcliffe, a well-known Broadway performer, has been mentoring Tom Felton as he makes his first appearance on a New York stage. At the 2025 Tony Awards, Felton explained that his longtime friend was really supporting him and helping him learn the ropes of live theater.

The actor was thankful for how welcoming everyone in the Broadway community has been, and he really appreciated the support from his fans. He also said having a friend who’s been through a similar change – moving from big movie franchises to performing on stage – has made the whole experience much easier and more exciting.

Since making his Broadway debut in the 2008 revival of Equus, Daniel Radcliffe has become a well-known theater actor. He’s earned a reputation for being able to handle a variety of roles through performances in popular shows like How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and The Cripple of Inishmaan.

Both actors have temporary jobs that will finish in May. Daniel Radcliffe is currently performing in Every Brilliant Thing, a very personal show where he directly engages with the audience, and he’s said to be really enjoying the challenge.

Fans are thrilled to see Tom Felton back as Draco Malfoy! He’s the first actor from the original Harry Potter films to appear in the stage production at the Lyric Theatre, and he’s extended his run until May 10th. He says it feels special to play Draco at the same age the character is in the story.

In addition to their stage work, both actors have several movies coming up. Daniel Radcliffe will be starring in the war thriller Trust the Man, and Tom Felton has just finished filming the action sci-fi movie They Will Kill You.

While a new cast is getting ready to play the famous characters in the upcoming HBO series, the original actors are still pursuing their own projects. Their long-lasting friendship shows how much the franchise meant to both of them and how much of a mark it left on their careers.
