Apple TV+ is attracting more and more viewers thanks to its focus on well-made, original shows and movies. Currently, the most popular titles cover a wide range of tastes, from gripping international thrillers to feel-good comedies. These shows are resonating with audiences thanks to great acting from famous stars and fresh, creative storytelling. Here’s a look at what’s currently topping the charts based on recent viewing numbers.
‘Palm Royale’ (2024– )

I’m really intrigued by ‘Palm Royale’! It follows Maxine Simmons as she tries to break into the super-exclusive world of Palm Beach high society back in 1969 – a time when everything was changing. It seems she quickly discovers that beneath the glamour, the wealthy elite have a lot to hide. From what I’ve gathered, it’s a story about how far people will go to achieve their ambitions and the facades they put up to be accepted. Plus, the cast is incredible – Kristen Wiig, Allison Janney, and even Ricky Martin are all involved, so I’m definitely planning to check it out!
‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ (2023– )

After a devastating fight between Godzilla and other colossal creatures, a brother and sister uncover their father’s hidden past with the mysterious Monarch organization. Their investigation takes them through time, showing how the discovery of giant monsters transformed the world. The story jumps between the 1950s and the present day, expanding the universe of these massive creatures. Starring Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, this is an exciting adventure about a world where giants roam.
‘Drops of God’ (2023)

This gripping drama unfolds in the beautiful world of fine wine, centered around a battle for inheritance and a fierce rivalry. After a renowned winemaker dies, his daughter, Camille, must compete with his gifted student, Issei, for ownership of his impressive wine collection. They’ll face three difficult challenges that test their wine expertise and senses. Filmed across the picturesque vineyards of France and the vibrant city of Tokyo, this series is a visually stunning, international production.
‘The Morning Show’ (2019– )

This series offers a behind-the-scenes look at the competitive world of morning news and the people behind it. It centers on a major scandal at a news network and the resulting power struggle. The show explores how characters deal with a world where maintaining a good image often matters more than telling the truth. Featuring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, it examines the changing environment of today’s newsrooms.
‘Pluribus’ (2025–)

In the novel ‘Pluribus,’ author Carol Sturka struggles to maintain her identity after a virus merges most of humanity into a single, collective consciousness. Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the story follows Carol as she tries to survive in a world where the majority of people, now part of this ‘hive mind,’ are peaceful but determined to bring others into the fold. Created by Vince Gilligan, the series delves into the psychological challenges of being alone in a world where everyone else is connected, and Carol must learn to navigate a familiar setting that now operates by completely different rules.
‘Severance’ (2022– )

Mark works at Lumon Industries, a company where employees’ memories of their work and personal lives are intentionally separated through a surgical procedure. This carefully constructed separation begins to unravel when a new coworker appears outside of work, leading Mark and his team on a quest to uncover the secrets of their jobs. The show uses this unique idea to examine issues of corporate power and what makes us who we are, and it’s known for its unsettling atmosphere and striking visuals.
‘Ted Lasso’ (2020–2023)

Ted Lasso is about an American football coach who takes on the challenge of leading a British soccer team, even though he knows nothing about the sport. He uses his positive attitude and genuine kindness to earn the trust of his players, the team’s owner, and the fans. The show highlights personal development, the power of teamwork, and the importance of looking after mental wellbeing in professional sports. It quickly became popular around the world, winning numerous awards for its acting and writing over its three seasons.
‘Tehran’ (2020– )

Tamar Rabinyan is a Mossad agent skilled in hacking who goes undercover in Tehran with a fake identity, tasked with sabotaging Iran’s nuclear program. When the mission goes wrong and she’s stranded, she must reconnect with her heritage while surviving in a treacherous world of spies. The show offers a gripping portrayal of covert operations and the personal sacrifices made during international conflicts. It’s also notable as the first Israeli series to win an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
‘Hijack’ (2023– )

When a flight to London is hijacked, corporate negotiator Sam Nelson tries to use his skills to talk the hijackers down and save everyone on board. The series, starring Idris Elba, follows both what’s happening inside the plane and the efforts of authorities on the ground, unfolding in almost real-time to build intense suspense.
‘Shrinking’ (2023– )

I’m completely hooked on this show about a therapist who’s really struggling with a personal loss. It’s fascinating – and a little shocking – to watch him start being brutally honest with his patients, completely throwing the rule book out the window. It’s definitely shaking things up for everyone involved! It’s not always easy to watch, it jumps between really funny moments and incredibly sad ones, but it feels so real. Plus, Jason Segel and Harrison Ford are amazing – Segel brings the heart, and Ford adds this incredible depth and even some humor. It’s a really powerful story about healing, and it’s making me think a lot about how we all deal with grief.
