As a longtime Marvel fan who has witnessed the evolution of the MCU since its inception, I must say that I am absolutely thrilled about Harrison Ford joining the ranks as Thunderbolt Ross and Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World! The prospect of this iconic actor bringing his unique charm and talent to these beloved characters is truly exhilarating.
Instead of waiting for the return of Bruce Banner transforming into the giant green Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), fans are now eager to witness Harrison Ford as the new Red Hulk. Notably, this renowned actor will portray another crucial character from Marvel comics, Thunderbolt Ross, a role that has been featured prominently in several MCU films before.
In the upcoming movie, Captain America: Brave New World, Ford’s exceptional performance is set to shine, a fact that he discussed with Variety at this year’s well-received San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
In my conversation with a renowned publication, I candidly shared my ambition to embody the Thunderbolt character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Contrary to popular belief, what truly drives me isn’t a multitude of factors, but rather the pursuit of financial success – a dream I’ve nurtured for quite some time now.
In an exhilarating turn of events for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, yours truly, Harrison Ford, will be embodying two characters simultaneously in their upcoming film. One of these roles will leverage motion capture technology, a challenge that even my mother might find questionable, or my acting coach if I had one. Yet, the thrill and fun of it all have me diving headfirst into this unique opportunity. It’s quite the adventure!
In reference to the latest movie trailer centering around Anthony Mackie’s portrayal of Captain America, Ford expressed his enjoyment and admiration upon observing the computer-generated imagery (CGI) depiction of the Red Hulk character.
Harrison Ford was cast as Captain America in the film “Brave New World” in October 2022, a role that was previously played by the late William Hurt. Notably, Hurt portrayed Thunderbolt Ross in movies like “The Incredible Hulk,” “Captain America: Civil War,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Avengers: Endgame” as well as “Black Widow.”
Following the unfortunate passing of my predecessor in 2022 at the age of 71, I’ve had the honor to step into his shoes and carry on his legacy. Now, as I embark on this exciting journey into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I can’t help but feel a sense of awe and gratitude, having witnessed some truly outstanding performances by my fellow actors in the MCU. Joining this remarkable team is not just an opportunity, it feels like a dream come true.
As an ardent admirer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I’m thrilled about Captain America: Brave New World! This upcoming installment promises to delve deeper into familiar faces like Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson’s The Leader, while also introducing fresh blood in the form of Danny Ramirez and the illustrious Giancarlo Esposito. I can hardly wait to see what these new characters bring to the table!
The film is set to release on February 14, 2025.
