Harrison Ford Bows Out of 2025 Oscars Due to Shingles Diagnosis

82-year-old acting icon, Harrison Ford, won’t attend the 2025 Oscars due to a recent diagnosis of shingles. Entertainment Weekly verified this, stating that he is taking time to rest and recuperate.

Yesterday, Ford was given a diagnosis, which led him to relinquish his hosting responsibilities this morning.

Over the past weekend, he made an appearance at the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards. During this event’s Netflix broadcast, he had a delightful interaction with his “Shrinking” screen partner, Jessica Williams.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Ford, a previous Oscar nominee for his performance in ‘Witness’, will be one of the presenters at the event. Some other individuals slated to appear on stage are Dave Bautista, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson, Margaret Qualley, Alba Rohrwacher, Rachel Zegler, and Zoe Saldaña, who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress this year.

During the event, there will be past Oscar winners like Cillian Murphy, Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., and Da’Vine Joy Randolph gracing the stage. For the first time in nearly a decade, Whoopi Goldberg is set to present at the Oscars. Moreover, Penélope Cruz, Halle Berry, and Goldie Hawn are among the other famous faces who will be participating.
