As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I’ve seen my fair share of scandals and public fallouts. The recent turn of events involving Blake Lively and her co-star Justin Baldoni is undeniably intriguing, to say the least.
In Hannah Berner’s recently aired comedy special on Netflix, the performer playfully criticized Blake Lively. However, the humor was misconstrued due to an unfortunate timing coincidence, as it surfaced during Blake’s legal battle for sexual harassment allegations against her co-star Justin Baldoni.
In a special event called Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year, which premiered on the streaming platform on December 27th, the former “Summer House” star humorously commented that the word “c-word” was popular this year, but he didn’t find Blake Lively particularly terrible.
Berner explained on social media that her stand-up special for Netflix was completed before Lively filed a lawsuit against someone. She emphasized that her joke during the roast show was recorded prior to the lawsuit news breaking. To make it perfectly clear, she is a supporter of Blake, sending love and affection. This was written in her Instagram story.
In her public appearances during the promotional tour for “It Ends With Us,” Lively’s past interviews, which revealed her behaving impolitely towards interviewers, were brought up and received attention. Notably, during an interaction with journalist Kjersti Flaa, Lively faced criticism for making a comment about Flaa’s apparent belly.
In addition, she lashed out at one reporter over questions about her relationship with Penn Badgley and employed a transphobic remark during another interview. These clips portrayed the actress negatively, but following her defamation lawsuit against Baldoni, viewers have been interpreting them in a different context.
In simpler terms, the actress who played Green Lantern claimed that her fellow actor and director on the movie “It Ends With Us” engaged in sexual harassment and started a malicious online campaign to harm her reputation. Additionally, she suggested that other individuals associated with the film’s production were involved in this scheme.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it as follows: In a protracted legal dispute, I, myself, claimed that the actor from Jane The Virgin exhibited behavior on set that was troubling and unprofessional. I asserted that the director’s actions included openly discussing his past struggles with porn addiction, sharing explicit videos or images of women, and creating an overall environment that made my fellow lead star feel uneasy.
The complaint also included text exchanges as evidence. One of them was Baldoni’s publicist’s text to a studio rep allegedly stating that he “wants to feel like he can [Lively] be buried,” to which the latter responded, “You know we can bury anyone.”
Nevertheless, Bryan Freedman, the actor’s lawyer, flat-out refused these accusations in a statement, labeling it as a “desperate effort” to repair her damaged public reputation, which stemmed from her own actions and statements. He also asserted that the claim of sexual harassment was completely untrue.
