Few short manga series make it to anime adaptations, but there are instances when they do, and the forthcoming “Hana-Doll: A Fresh Take on Blossoming” is one of those exceptions. This series is set to debut shortly.
The Hana-Doll franchise by Movic is primarily made up of numerous drama CDs, music, and stage plays, but it also includes a single-volume manga titled “Hana-Doll*: Flowering: Boys were still in a dream,” which was published from 2020 to 2021.
A new anime series will be airing soon, specifically starting on April 9, 2025. The makers have already unveiled the primary trailer for the forthcoming show.

The animation appears impressive, and even though this particular series may not be a widely recognized hit, its unique aspects pique my interest enough for us to give it a watch. We’re definitely going to check it out.
The show centers around a team of individuals, known as the “Flower Doll Project Team,” who are committed to an endeavor called the “Flower Doll Project.” Their objective is to design and build “perfect dolls” using a unique approach that involves inserting specific flowers into their physical forms.
In the upcoming anime, I’ll be voicing Daiki Hamano as Ryōga Kagekawa, Kent Itō as Lihito Tōdō, Seiichirō Yamashita as Mahiro Yūki, Shunichi Toki as Kaoru Kisaragi, Toshiki Masuda as Haruta Kiyose, and Wataru Komada will lend his voice to Chitose Shōrai/Chise.
As a movie critic, I’m thrilled to share that Masahiro Takata will helm the upcoming anime project at A-Real Studios. Risa Arai has been appointed as our character designer, promising a visually captivating experience. GyroKnuckle is set to guide the series scripts, ensuring a compelling narrative unfolds. Takanori Yamaura takes on the role of animation producer, while Saya Fukase from UWAN Pictures will oversee the production of the 3D CG elements, promising a dynamic and immersive viewing experience.
The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and TV Aichi on April 9.
