Disney is planning to bring the filmed version of Hamilton, featuring the original Broadway cast, to cinemas across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico on September 5, 2025. Initially released on Disney+ in July 2020, fans who can’t get enough are eagerly anticipating this big-screen premiere. Additionally, this theatrical release will feature an exciting new bonus feature.
The movie adaptation of Hamilton will kick off with a segment titled “Reuniting the Revolution.” Disney refers to this as an exclusive special prologue, which includes fresh interviews with the original cast and creators discussing the influence that the show has had on them personally.
Tickets for the live performance of Hamilton are now on sale via Fandango. For those living outside North America, Hamilton will be screened in cinemas across the UK and Ireland starting on September 26. The show will make its way to Australian and New Zealand theaters on November 13.
In his statement, director-producer Thomas Kail expressed that when filming Hamilton, their goal was to convey the atmosphere of being in the Richard Rodgers Theatre during its inaugural year on Broadway. He’s delighted that moviegoers can now enjoy this experience on the large cinema screens.
For sure, Hamilton enthusiasts such as ourselves won’t miss out on this unique opportunity to witness the show in an extraordinary way.
