Halsey Reveals She ‘Shared Everything’ About New Single Lucky With Britney Spears: ‘I Wanted To Make Sure…’

As a die-hard fan who’s grown up with the melodious tunes of both Halsey and Britney Spears, I can hardly contain my excitement about their latest collaboration. Halsey’s dedication to ensuring every step of the Lucky creation was approved by Britney herself is simply mind-blowing! It’s like a dream come true for a 90s kid like me, who used to dance around the living room with a hairbrush microphone, mimicking their idols.

After much anticipation, Halsey thrilled her followers by unveiling her newest production – a music video for her latest single titled “Lucky.” This fresh release incorporates elements from Britney Spears’ renowned 2000 hit, “Oops!… I Did It Again,” taken from the pop sensation’s second album. Halsey has also disclosed that she discussed every aspect of this new track with the artist herself.

As reported by People magazine, Halsey has shared in an interview with BBC Radio 1 that Britney Spears provided support while working on a new track. The singer behind Bad at Love mentioned that she kept Spears informed at every stage of the process, starting from the initial demo of the song. Furthermore, she sent her a detailed treatment for the music video to ensure that everything was perfect.

In addition, the singer disclosed that they had exchanged merchandise items. Specifically, she revealed that the Grammy-winning pop star gifted her Lucky merchandise to celebrate the Lucky anniversary, and in return, she provided her with some merchandise and assorted items.

Halsey found talking with Spears to be an incredible experience, remarking that she hadn’t realized the singer was aware of her existence. Essentially, every day feels surreal to her, as if she’s pinching herself, because there’s a child star who used to be excited about her.

On the 26th of July, she unveiled Lucky’s music video and announced it on Instagram to her fans. The artist also posted a collection of backstage photos, accompanied by the comment, “The Lucky music video is now live, and there are plenty of emotions swirling here.” She mentioned that it was difficult to express so many contrasting feelings in such a short span.

Despite numerous fans admiring her latest song, Halsey has been responding to the negative feedback she received from some fans on social media following its release. As reported by Deadline, last week she expressed regret over returning to music in a Tumblr post, stating, “I came close to losing my life,” and expressing that she will no longer engage in anything that doesn’t bring her happiness anymore.

In her own words, she shared that when she fell ill, all she yearned for was recovery so she could rejoin this familiar experience once more. However, she confessed that she no longer recognizes what “this” entails, and the desire to retreat and hide has consumed her. She also expressed remorse for returning.

Meanwhile, Halsey’s new single Lucky is available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
