Cynthia Erivo is the sole black actress nominated in the Best Actress category for her exceptional performance in Wicked this year. Halle Berry, who has previously admired Erivo’s work on Instagram, referred to Wicked as one of her favorite films of 2024, praising it as “outstanding” and predicting that many people have already watched it multiple times. In a December post, Berry expressed her enthusiasm for the film, stating that Erivo and Ariana Grande delivered “spectacular and enchanting performances.

Unable to contain her excitement amidst such flattering accolades, she responded warmly, “Thank you so much, Halle!
