Hailey Bieber Reveals Suffering Postpartum Hemorrhage During Delivery: ‘I Was Bleeding Really Badly, and People Die…’

For the first instance, Hailey Bieber spoke openly about encountering a critical postnatal complication when welcoming her son, Jack Blues Bieber, into the world. In an intimate conversation, the model disclosed that she endured a severe postpartum hemorrhage following delivery, causing her to worry gravely due to excessive bleeding.

Hailey shared with Vogue that giving birth turned out to be the most challenging experience she’s faced so far. Regardless of the extensive preparations involving breath control, acupuncture, yoga, and strength training, her labor didn’t follow the expected course.

At 39 weeks, she started experiencing leakage of amniotic fluid, leading to medical intervention. The doctors administered Pitocin to stimulate contractions, and a Foley catheter was inserted into her uterus and filled with saline solution to help her cervix widen.

Hailey, after 18 long hours of childbirth without using an epidural, welcomed her newborn son. Yet, this challenging episode was not close to being finished.

In a chilling recollection, she shared with the media, “I was losing an alarming amount of blood during labor, and it’s a thought that crosses your mind – that you might not make it.” Postpartum hemorrhage, which occurs in 1 to 5% of deliveries, is a serious condition that can progress into hypovolemic shock, organ failure, or even death if immediate treatment isn’t administered.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase it like this: Initially, multiple medications were attempted to halt the excessive bleeding I was experiencing post-delivery, but unfortunately, they proved ineffective. My precious newborn was temporarily separated from me while medical professionals urgently sought a solution using a device called Jada, an innovative vacuum apparatus designed to induce uterine contractions and manage such situations. The hours that followed were incredibly challenging as I bravely endured the intense procedure, but eventually, the bleeding subsided.

She noted that the period after giving birth was the most delicate experience she had ever encountered, compounded by the harsh comments and trolling she received online. To endure this ordeal while still regularly using the internet daily… words can hardly express her feelings.

Hailey shared that, despite the challenging event, she feels no remorse and is considering expanding her family further. She mentioned, “Perhaps another child or even more,” and expressed her intention to grow her family gradually, one child at a time.

Justin Bieber, who frequently refers to Hailey as a source of balance and consistency amidst a chaotic and unpredictable lifestyle, openly praised his spouse in an email sent to Vogue. He stated that marrying Hailey was the wisest decision he has ever made.
