Interestingly enough, she revealed later on that the Buffalo Bills’ quarterback had also given her a knife, but it was a different color than Josh’s.

In their exchange of knives, Allen explained to the actress-singer, “It’s said in an old wives’ tale that if you give a knife as a gift to your significant other, you must cover its cost; otherwise, it symbolizes the ending of a relationship,” Steinfeld recounted.

To dispel any potential negative influence on their relationship, the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse voice actress subsequently mentioned that she and Allen had “swapped places” or “taken turns spending time with each other.

Additionally, the singer acknowledged her lack of knowledge regarding a chef’s knife but expressed a sense of officialness when gazing at the gift bestowed upon her by her sports icon partner.
