Hades 2: How to get Star Dust

Star Dust can be a little hard to find in Hades 2, but it’s essential for maximizing your Animal Familiars. You’ll need a good amount to craft items, especially Witch’s Treats, which are used to acquire and improve your familiars’ skills.

We’ll explain how to get Star Dust so you can make your cute pets more powerful than ever before.

How to get Star Dust – Hades 2

The main way to get Star Dust is via the Pitch-Black Stone and the Chaos Trials it offers.

To get the Pitch Black Stone, you’ll first need to visit the Realm of Chaos three times during a game and survive its curses to earn its blessings. Once you’ve done that, speaking to Chaos again will teach you the “Abyssal Insight” spell, which requires:

  • 2 Moly
  • 2 Nightshade
  • 2 Fate Fabric
  • 2 Pearls

Both Moly and Nightshade are readily available. You can find Moly growing in Erebus, and Nightshade is cultivated from seeds discovered at Erebus digsites. A single trip to Erebus should be enough to gather both. For Fate Fabric, please refer to our guide for all the acquisition methods. Lastly, Pearls are earned by defeating the Siren bosses in Oceanus.

Finishing this ritual will unlock the Pitch Black Stone, giving you access to Chaos Trials. Each trial you complete rewards you with 1 Star Dust. You’ll unlock even more trials as you collect new Keepsakes, Tarot Cards, and Weapon Aspects, so keep progressing to earn more Star Dust!

You can also earn a small amount of Star Dust through less consistent methods. For example, completing the Fates Prophecy “Awakened Aspects” will reward you with 3 Star Dust for leveling up any weapon’s Aspect of Night to Rank 5.

Later in the game, you’ll be able to buy Star Dust from the Wretched Broker, but it’s quite costly – 600 Bones will get you 1 Star Dust.
