Moon Dust is a valuable and potent resource you’ll find as you progress in Hades 2. It’s literally dust from the moon, and you can use it to enhance your Tarot Cards, making their helpful effects even stronger. Once you unlock this ability, you’ll want to start collecting it, so here’s how to get Moon Dust.
How to get Moon Dust – Hades 2

There are a few different ways to get Moon Dust, but they all involve spending currency.
You can mainly obtain more Moon Dust from the Wretched Broker, who sells it for 80 Bones apiece. Alternatively, you can buy eight at a time with 4 of Charon’s Coupons, but it will take 80 encounters before the shipment reaches the Crossroads.
You might find Moon Dust at Charon’s shop after completing Tartarus, or at the top of Mount Olympus just before the final boss fight. However, it’s quite expensive at 1,000 gold, so it’s usually better to spend your gold on Bones and Charon’s Coupons instead to get the items you need.
Later in the game, you’ll unlock the ability to make Moon Dust using your cauldron. You can do this with two different spells (incantations):
- Moonlit Essence from Shadows – 1 Cinder, 1 Shadow – 5 Moon Dust
- Moonlit Essence from Stars – 1 Star Dust – 3 Moon Dust
You get Cinder each time you beat Hecate in Erebus, and you’ll need to make Shadow at the cauldron. For more information on gathering Star Dust, see our guide.
