Hacks’ Altadena Mansion Destroyed In LA Fires Among Many Other Historic Hollywood Homes And Film Sets; DEETS Inside

The Los Angeles fire wreaked unprecedented destruction, leaving behind charred ruins of houses, famous film locations, and treasured belongings in its wake. Rapidly expanding wildfire consumed some of Tinseltown’s historic residences, including the Altadena Mansion – a prominent setting for Max’s comedy series Hacks among others.

Based on a witness’s account, the mansion was destroyed by the Eaton fire. The media has yet to document the damage as evacuation orders remain active within that region.

The Hacks’ residence made an appearance during the second season of the show, serving as Deborah Vance’s (Jean Smart) secondary home in Los Angeles. As per Emmy-nominated Production Designer Alec Contestabile, it was a substantial five-bedroom structure that frequently served as a filming location.

He disclosed that the initial filming location for season 4 was chosen, and fortunately, they completed the necessary scenes there. However, it wasn’t certain if Deborah Vance’s character would be seen under that roof once more, as he pointed out.

Additionally, there was a worry about the Crank house, an iconic filming location for Matilda, Scream 2, and Catch Me If You Can. Moreover, it’s been reported that Rubio Street, well-known for hosting films like Risky Business and TV series such as This Is Us, may have been destroyed by a wildfire.

Photos of McNally House, known from the show Entourage and various productions, are spreading rapidly online as it was damaged by fire. Additionally, the historic ranch house of Will Rogers was also consumed by the Palisades wildfire.
