Gypsy Rose Blanchard expresses her feelings about becoming a mother and shares her sorrow over not being able to provide a close relationship with her own mother, Dee Dee. During an episode of The Viall Files, she mentioned that she wished for Dee Dee to have a warm bond with the daughter who is soon to be born.

In her discussion with the podcast host, Blanchard described the situation with her mother as deeply distressing. Specifically, she often finds herself pondering what might have been, which leaves her feeling sorrowful.

Blanchard went on to say that she’s had plenty of experience handling media queries, specifically those focusing on what she’d share with her daughter about her grandmother, or the reasons behind her mother’s absence.

Instead, Gypsy stated that Kristy Blanchard had taken on a maternal role in her life, surpassing what her biological mother provided. Moreover, she mentioned that Kristy would eventually be known as her grandmother.

In December of 2023, Blanchard, who had spent eight years in prison for the murder of her mother Dee Dee (who suffered from severe mental health issues), returned to her hometown. This crime was committed alongside her longtime partner, Nicholas “Nick” Godejohn.

Furthermore, Gypsy Rose voiced her thoughts about the numerous critical comments she encountered online. She expressed, “What truly bothers me is the prevailing assumption that parents who have experienced trauma in their past will inevitably perpetuate this cycle with their children, as if they’d be destined to follow the same path.

She went on to say, “I believe it’s not right to burden such responsibility on someone else as I am actively working towards my mental stability to become a parent and work on my own healing.
