In the year 1980, Pearce, who was 57 years old at the time of this writing, and Mestitz, then aged 58, crossed paths at Geelong College in Australia. Their journey together led to their marriage in 1997. They disclosed their separation in January 2015, with Pearce expressing that despite parting ways, they would continue to hold each other dear, offering love and support while maintaining a strong friendship.
