Australian actor Guy Pearce has strongly criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza and the West Bank, calling the treatment of Palestinians “shameful” and saying it strips them of their humanity.
I am deeply disturbed by the actions of Israelis and their apparent lack of respect for Palestinian lives. These actions are appalling and represent a setback for humanity.

I was deeply disturbed to see the comments made by Pearce on X. He expressed such strong feelings of disgust towards Israelis, saying he’d never felt so repulsed by any group of people. He continued by saying he’s horrified by what he sees as a complete lack of respect for Palestinian lives, and feels these actions are a shameful step backward for all of us. It’s truly upsetting to read such harsh words and see his perspective on the ongoing violence.
Pearce posted a video from Al Jazeera showing a 15-year-old Palestinian boy being shot by Israeli forces in the West Bank. According to reports, the boy wasn’t given medical help after being wounded and later died.

Fighting in the West Bank has increased sharply since Israel started its military operations in Gaza on October 7, 2023. Since then, Israeli forces and settlers have been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians in the occupied territory.
Demonstrations in support of Palestinians have been happening across Australia, especially in cities like Sydney and Melbourne, as more people become concerned about the ongoing conflict.
Guy Pearce has joined a growing number of people speaking out about the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. His recent statement reflects the widespread frustration and anger many feel about the current situation.
