Gundam Breakers 4 collaborating with Pac-Man seems like Bandai stole from my dreams

As a long-time Gundam fan and avid gamer, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Gundam Breaker 4. With each new feature announced, my anticipation grows stronger. But today’s news has taken it to a whole new level. The collaboration with Pac-Man is the cherry on top of an already amazing sundae!

Nearly every evening, I engage in a small activity on my PS5 involving Gundam Breaker 3. As a longtime enthusiast of Gundam, the opportunity to create improved kitbashes and battle them is an incredible experience that I deeply enjoy. Additionally, as I write this message, my upper left arm is adorned with a tattoo resembling a Pac-Man maze. Essentially, my love for Pac-Man is evidently displayed on my sleeve.

Today, I discovered some exciting news about the upcoming Gundam Breakers 4 game, which will be released in just over a month. In this highly anticipated title, one of my beloved comfort games is teaming up with Pac-Man for a collaboration.

My god.

I was fully supportive of GB4’s new features before I learned about the additional customizations. With two distinct arms from various suits and the option to wield two unique weapons, I could design custom combos. Adjusting the dimensions of different parts to enhance their visual harmony was another exciting feature. And the freedom to place decals anywhere on models, rather than being limited to specific spots as in GB3, made it even more appealing. But now you’re informing me that they’re introducing Pac-Man decals? That’s an unexpected and delightful bonus!

I’m drawn to decals that closely resemble my tattoo and spark a strong desire in me to create an arcade cabinet project around them. Wow!

Additionally, there’s a unique level modeled after a Pac-Man labyrinth. Hovering above are yellow Haro, mimicking power pellets. In contrast, Beargguys with distinct colors behave like ghosts, pursuing you as you gather the pellets. Everything about it seems enjoyable.

I’m particularly drawn to the fact that this trailer highlights customization features within the game that I wasn’t previously aware of. At 0:22, for instance, you can see a range of decal customization possibilities. What’s exciting is that you can manipulate the roughness and shine levels of these stickers, which was not an option in GB3. Instead, the stickers blended with surface settings, making them hard to notice at times.

I couldn’t contain my enthusiasm for the upcoming game; I’ve been checking outside daily, hopeful for an early arrival (even though it was still over a month away). Learning about its enjoyable collaborations, reminiscent of Monster Hunter, only heightens my excitement. All that’s needed now is the addition of the actual Pac-Man mech model from Bandai, and I’ll be completely satisfied.
