The twenty-first season of Grey’s Anatomy is packed with shocking surprises, some of which are quite literal. In a heart-pounding plotline, Jenna resorts to drastic actions to save her nine-year-old child. She coerces Amelia into performing an operation on her, and in a chilling move, she brandishes an explosive gas canister as leverage.
In an attempt to deescalate the tension, I, as a lifestyle expert, step in and do my best to calm things down. Working alongside Amelia, we manage to take life-saving action for the nine-year-old. However, Jenna manages to slip away before the SWAT team can apprehend her. Regrettably, it becomes clear that Jenna might have unwittingly released a potentially harmful gas into the environment.
Right away, everyone was alerted about the situation. Meredith was spotted near the hospital just before a massive explosion occurred.
Discussing further about the finale of season 21, Meg Marinis, our showrunner, spoke with Deadline. They inquired as to why an explosion was chosen and who could potentially find themselves in peril.
After the end of season 21, Meg Marinis, our show’s boss, talked to Deadline about why they chose an explosion and who could be in trouble.
Marinis stated to the media outlet, “The last explosion we had was a fire at the end of Season 13, and that’s the only one I can recall offhand.” She continued, “However, deciding to have an explosion at the end was something we really enjoyed. It creates this tension throughout the episode where you think everyone is in danger, then things seem fine, and suddenly, in a classic Grey’s style, we yank the rug out from under everyone.
Marinis shared with the media outlet that she finds it exciting to resume all activities again, and she believes this is the most fitting conclusion for the show since everyone’s lives could potentially be at risk.
According to the showrunner, only Meredith and Ben were not in the hospital, while it was believed that Jo had stepped away from the hospital for a break.
Marinis stated, “If they weren’t inside the hospital, they were there. It’s anyone’s guess who it is, and it’s quite exciting.” She didn’t add any remarks about the extent of injuries sustained following the explosion. The showrunner declared that the ending was a fantastic cliffhanger, causing viewers to shout at their televisions.
