Alkimia Interactive’s remake of Gothic 1, initially planned for release in 2023, has been pushed back to early 2026. This update was shared during THQ Nordic’s recent presentation, along with a fresh trailer showcasing Xardas, the iconic necromancer from the series. You can watch it below.
Xardas sketches a broad picture of the world, encompassing the Khorinis mines and their captives, as well as the orcs causing chaos throughout the realm. It further offers an in-depth perspective on the enhanced combat system, ranging from swordplay and magic to summoning skeletons to battle on your behalf.
Apart from this, you can now try out the Nyras Prologue demo on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. It was previously only accessible on PC. This demonstration offers a glimpse into the entire game’s style of play and visual aesthetic that the developers are aiming to achieve.
