Nicki Glaser, widely recognized for her roles in the Comedy Central Roast, created a historical milestone by becoming the inaugural solo female comedian to host the Golden Globe Awards. Her bold yet identifiable wit injected a revitalizing spirit into the 82nd event.
After her impressive first time hosting, the producers are thinking about making Glaser the long-term presenter of the Golden Globes. Executive producer Glenn Weiss highly commended her performance, stating, “Nikki, in my view, it’s a home run. She truly prepared… She demonstrated herself to be an excellent host.
In an interview with Variety, Glenn Weiss expressed that they are considering inviting Lisa Glaser back to join their team, as he believes she could excel in the role over the long term due to their positive past experience with her.
Although she didn’t disclose any specific plans, Weiss noted that given her background in producing and hosting award shows, she seems to have discovered a suitable role here, and it has turned out quite harmoniously.
According to Weiss, Nikki Glaser put in a lot of effort into perfecting her comedy routine, often performing as many as five shows per night to polish her jokes. Additionally, he commended her skill at adapting to the mood of the audience, noting that she has a knack for it and that her style aligns well with the nature of the show.
Opting for Glaser carried some uncertainty because of her more unconventional wit; however, it proved to be a successful decision. The Golden Globes, famous for their festive ambiance, thrived under her energetic and contemporary style. If things continue this way, Glaser might well carve out a memorable niche for herself within the ceremony, similar to how Ricky Gervais and Tina Fey with Amy Poehler have in the past.
