On January 5th, during the 82nd Golden Globes event, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and hosted by Nikki Glaser, Jodie Foster dedicated her award win to her husband and sons.
I, a devoted admirer, am thrilled to share that at 62 years old, I was bestowed with the prestigious award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Anthology Series, or Television Movie category. This recognition came as a result of my performance in True Detective: Night Country.
Upon taking the stage, Foster commenced her acceptance speech by acknowledging the “stunning Issa Lopez,” the “exceptionally gifted showrunner and director” of the series. Foster conveyed her appreciation towards her and for their cherished bond.
Afterwards, she expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the acclaimed mystery show, including the Icelandic natives and indigenous communities whose tales had a profound impact on her. She wished that these stories might have an equally transformative effect on the audience.
Focusing on her cherished family members, Foster went on to express, “Above all else, I wish to express gratitude towards my family. My son Kit, a dedicated scientist, and Charlie, my budding actor, beginning his career – I hope you can appreciate the immense satisfaction that comes from engaging in challenging, significant, worthwhile endeavors.
My dears, I adore you both so deeply, and it goes without saying that this is for you two special people, as well as my beloved Alex. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, forever and always.
For those not aware, Foster has kids from a past relationship with Cydney Bernard and is now wedded to Alexandra Hedison, who she refers to as her soulmate.
In a different wording, Cristin Milioti outshone Cate Blanchett, Sofia Vergara, Kate Winslet, and Naomi Watts in Disclaimer, Griselda, The Penguin, The Regime, and Feud: Capote vs. the Swans respectively to take home the award.
