Goldberg Tells Gunther: You’re Next! WWE Raw Reaction 6/16/25

Compared to the previous Monday Night Raw, this week’s edition was noticeably more polished and well-executed, with each segment delivering effectively without any missteps or lackluster performances.

Liv Morgan & Dirty Dom

Beginning WWE Raw on Netflix, Liv Morgan and Dirty Dom deliver captivating television. They’re universally disliked by the audience, but that’s exactly why you find them appealing. Dirty Dom generated a lot of negative reactions, which is why he’s rapidly gaining popularity as a villain among fans, despite his somewhat soft physique and the need to focus on weight training. The move by Iyo Sky against Dom was an unexpected bonus!

Ivy Nile vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Asuka

What a terrific contest! It’s hard to ignore the argument that the female wrestlers exhibit exceptional skills compared to their male counterparts. Asuka managed to clinch victory, which I felt was quite predictable. Rhea Ripley stepped in to assist. However, my allegiance lay with Stephanie Vaquer during this match.

Gunther & Goldberg

Up next, Goldberg!

According to all the whispers and assumptions, the segment commences with Gunther making an appearance to honor his triumph. It seems likely that the crowd recognized the situation and began cheering for “Goldberg” amusingly. Gunther handled it gracefully before transitioning to Seth Rollins.

Goldberg’s music resonates! He’ll be squaring off at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 in Atlanta, Georgia, marking his retirement match. Despite appearing smaller than before, he’s had numerous injuries and setbacks. Nonetheless, he looks relatively fit. I once encountered him backstage in Buffalo years ago. He’s always been a favorite of mine. Hey Gunther! You’re up next!

JD McDonagh vs. AJ Styles

Compared to last week’s fight between Styles and Gable, this one was slightly improved. As anticipated, Styles emerged victorious. Later in the program, it was announced that at the Night of Champions, Styles will face Dirty Dom for the Intercontinental championship. Overall, the match didn’t disappoint and had a satisfying conclusion.

Bayley & Becky Lynch

This part of the evening was less impressive, it turned out they were planning to give Bayley a chance for the Intercontinental title next week. In my opinion, other WWE female superstars who deserve more attention could take this opportunity instead.

Liv Morgan vs. Kairi Sane

In a regrettable turn of events, I found myself witnessing an abrupt end to a match when Liv Morgan allegedly sustained an injury. As a result, Bayley Sane was declared the victor by default. It didn’t appear to be a staged outcome.

Jey Uso vs. Rusev vs. Sheamus vs. Bronson Reed

Battle of the bruisers! I liked this match. It’s a bunch of big brutes battling it out.

Everybody shows up, creating complete chaos. Bron Breakker teams up with Paul Heyman, followed by Sami Zayn and Penta. Breakker is a force to reckon with. I thought Bronson Reed should’ve won instead. But as expected, Jey Uso takes the victory (with an eye-roll). Rollins emerges and confronts Uso. Then, Cody Rhodes’ theme song plays! Rollins steps out of the ring. Next week features a semi-final King of the Ring match between Uso and Rhodes.

The Verdict

In summary, the Raw event was enjoyable. Among my preferred performers were Liv Morgan, Dominick Mysterio, Stephanie Vaquer, Rhea Ripley, Gunther, Goldberg, Bronson Reed, Bron Breakker, Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes. I’d rate it an 8 out of 10.
