Godzilla Stomps Onto Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer Cans

It’s been a big year for Godzilla, as he celebrates his 70th birthday! He began the year enjoying the success of both Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Godzilla Minus One. He even battled Marvel heroes and inspired a burger named in his honor. As this exciting year comes to a close, he deserves a refreshing beer to cool down from all that atomic fire! That’s why Pabst Blue Ribbon is stepping in. This fall, PBR and Toho International will swap the classic Pabst Blue Ribbon can design for brand new, Godzilla-themed cans. Take a look at the first pictures below:

To create the new designs for Godzilla beer cans, Pabst Blue Ribbon collaborated with Attack Peter, the official artist for the Godzilla franchise, resulting in four unique illustrations. Each image was made using Attack Peter’s distinctive hard-carved linoleum block print style. Starting this fall, Attack Peter’s Godzilla artwork will appear on over 60 million Pabst Blue Ribbon cans and packaging. It’s not just Godzilla, though – other famous monsters, or kaiju, like Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla are featured too. A small number of cans will also have a special feature: a ‘blue atomic breath effect’ that turns the can blue when it’s perfectly chilled.

I was really excited to hear what Toho International’s Kristin Parcell had to share about their latest beer, created to celebrate that awesome, city-stomping, fire-breathing lizard we all love!

Here at Toho International, we’re constantly exploring creative opportunities to bring Godzilla to more people and keep him relevant in popular culture. Collaborating with Pabst Blue Ribbon – a well-established brand known for its history and dedicated fans – is a great way to connect with fans in a new and exciting manner, befitting the King of Monsters.

Pabst Blue Ribbon and Godzilla have teamed up on a new line of beer cans, which will be available in stores this October – perfect for your Halloween celebrations. Get ready!
