God of War Series Adds Thor’s Kids: Modi, Magni, and Thrud Cast, Plus Odin’s Valkyrie Commander

The upcoming Prime Video series based on God of War has announced four new actors joining the cast. Filming is currently underway in Vancouver and is being produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. The series is planned to have two seasons.

I’m so excited to hear that Louis Cunningham, Ben Chapple, Evelyn Miller, and Island Austin are now part of the show! It’s fantastic to see the team growing, especially with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions backing it all.

Louis Cunningham Cast As Modi

Louis Cunningham, known for their role in Marie Antoinette, will be a main cast member in the series, playing Modi – the child of Sif and Thor.

This character is known for being kind and thoughtful, with a strong, almost consuming, curiosity. They’re the kind of person who gets completely absorbed in puzzles and complicated challenges, often forgetting everything else around them.

Ben Chapple To Play Magni

Ben Chapple, known for his roles in Good Cop Bad Cop and Playing for Keeps, will appear in a recurring role as Magni, the oldest son of Sif and Thor.

I’ve heard about this character, Magni – apparently, he’s the classic handsome, adventurous type, a really skilled hunter, and women just seem to fall for him. But honestly, it sounds like he’s getting a little tired of the endless party life that comes with being immortal. He’s searching for something more meaningful, a real purpose. And he’s fiercely loyal to his younger brother, Modi – always looking out for him, which I always appreciate in a character.

Evelyn Miller Joins As Gna

Evelyn Miller, known for her roles in Foundation and The Lovers, will appear in a recurring role as Gna, the leader of Odin’s Valkyries.

This character is a strong and dedicated warrior, fiercely loyal to Odin – almost to the point of obsession. She’s incredibly disciplined, doesn’t compromise her principles, and will always put her duty to the realm first, even if it means personal sacrifice.

Island Austin Cast As Thrud

Island Austin, known for their roles in Insidious 6 and I Can Only Imagine 2, will be a main cast member in the series, playing Thrud, the youngest child of Sif and Thor.

This character is remarkably bright, curious, and brave, with a real thirst for learning. She’s also known for being sweet and compassionate, frequently stepping in to calm conflicts within her difficult family. According to a recent announcement, Odin recognizes Thrud’s potential and develops a close connection with her.

What We Know About the God of War Series

In God of War, Kratos and his son, Atreus, embark on a journey to scatter the ashes of their beloved wife and mother, Faye. Throughout their travels, Kratos attempts to guide Atreus in becoming a strong god, while Atreus, in turn, tries to help his father reconnect with his humanity.

The voice cast features Ryan Hurst as Kratos, Callum Vinson as Atreus, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ed Skrein as Baldur, Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Teresa Palmer as Sif, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Jeff Gulka as Sindri, and Danny Woodburn as Brok.

Ronald D. Moore is the driving creative force behind the show, acting as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. He’s joined by executive producers Maril Davis, Cory Barlog, Naren Shankar, Matthew Graham, Asad Qizilbash, Jeff Ketcham, Hermen Hulst, Roy Lee, and Brad Van Arragon. Joe Menosky, Marc Bernardin, Tania Lotia, and Ben McGinnis contribute as co-executive producers.

Frederick E.O. Toye, the director behind popular shows like Shōgun, The Boys, and Fallout (and an Emmy winner!), will be directing the first two episodes.

The series remains without a release date.
