As an ardent fan of Glen Powell, I can’t help but be moved by his heartwarming story about adopting Brisket, his furry companion and co-star in life. The way he relentlessly pursued Brisket, even returning home from LA, is a testament to the power of love and determination. It’s not every day you see an actor so deeply connected with their pet, and it makes their bond even more endearing.
Glen Powell has revealed his persistent efforts to adopt his beloved dog, Brisket. The actor discussed this in an article for Dogue, which is Vogue’s digital project highlighting famous dogs known as “celebri-dogs.” Now, Brisket shares the spotlight with other popular canine celebrities such as Billie Eilish’s dog Shark and Demi Moore’s pooch Pilaf.
The interview featuring Brisket was posted on August 14th, where Powell openly shared his strong commitment to bring him back home. During last summer’s production of Twisters in Oklahoma, Powell stumbled upon Brisket’s photo on the Labelle Foundation’s Instagram account.
He remembered being in a cafe in Enid, Oklahoma, when he saw the photograph quite vividly. This made him record a video and then reach out through social media platforms to all people related to the place from which he adopted the puppy.
Due to his dedication to adopting a dog named Brisket, Powell had to cut short his shoot in Los Angeles and head home. During this period, he pondered over naming the dog after Enid, the town where he first spotted him. But eventually, he felt that it would be more fitting to call him Brisket instead.
The Twisters actor mentioned to Vogue that his friends often refer to the dog as “Brisky” or “Brisky Business,” due to his energetic and sociable personality. As Powell explained, Brisket is filled with endless energy and always eager to meet new people. He added, “Given that he’s such a lively character, it’s fitting.”
Powell frequently enjoys having Brisket by his side, even on trips like his latest movie tour, Twisters. This suggests that Brisky might accompany him in future shoots too, possibly in Atlanta and London. He finds comfort in the dog’s presence during these journeys, especially when he is far from home. He stated, “It’s quite enjoyable having him along for the ride. Being so far from home, it’s just nice to share all these adventures with him.”
The movie Twister, featuring Glen Powell as Tyler Owens, Kiernan Shipka as Addy, Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate Carter, and Anthony Ramos as Javi, can be seen at cinemas currently.
