As an ardent fan of captivating cinematic experiences, I must admit that the lack of a kissing scene between Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar Jones in Twisters has left me somewhat disappointed, much like the rest of the audience who have been enamored by their fiery on-screen chemistry. However, upon hearing Glen’s response to the criticism, I can’t help but feel a bit more optimistic about the film. His genuine enthusiasm for the project and his camaraderie with Daisy are truly heartwarming.

As an ardent admirer, I must express my thoughts about the movie “Twisters,” starring none other than Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones. This film has stirred quite a buzz among viewers due to the absence of romantic kissing scenes between the two leads. In this cinematic rollercoaster, Glen portrayed Tyler Owen, while Daisy breathed life into the character of Kate. Despite their shared ordeal of surviving tornadoes and the undeniable sparks of passion that ignited on screen, their story seemed to lack the traditional romantic kiss, which has left many of us fans yearning for more.

Despite the captivating romantic tension in the movie, many viewers expressed disappointment because no kissing scenes were included. In an interview with Screen Rant while promoting his new Audible podcast, the lead actor of Anyone But You discussed and responded to the criticism that the film received.

Speaking with the media recently, I couldn’t help but express my feelings about the criticism I’ve been receiving – it’s been a personal matter for me, and I’ve found myself taking it positively. It’s heartening to see that people are investing so much emotion in our movie and its characters. As the star of Top Gun: Maverick, I can’t help but feel deeply connected to this project, especially after sharing some memorable moments with Daisy Edgar-Jones during filming – like when we got to share a kiss behind the scenes (a moment that truly stands out for me!). Laughing about it now, I have to say that we had an incredible time working together, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created.

He further added, “I really think that even that [backlash] shows that people care, which is really great. I just love how excited people have gotten about that movie, and Daisy and I send each other the TikToks and the gifs.” 

 

The film titled “Twisters” is the sequel to the 1996 movie with the same name. This movie was a massive success at the box office, earning approximately $313.9 million during its theater run. The dynamic duo of Powell and Edgar Jones has become quite popular online due to their impressive acting in this film. However, some critics have pointed out that there was no kissing scene in the movie. Nevertheless, director Lee Isaac Chung has provided an explanation for why the kiss between the actors was left out.

In the final version of the movie, Chung chose to edit certain parts before release, as he felt it was important not to overshadow Kate’s overall character development. Additionally, Chung shared that the bond between the characters is robust on-screen and their dynamic works seamlessly within the storyline, even without a romantic kiss being included.

In the 2024 movie “Haunted,” protagonist Kate Cooper, traumatized by an encounter with a tornado, is drawn back to the vast plains by her friend Javi, who invites her to test a revolutionary tracking system. Eventually, she encounters Tyler Owens, a charismatic and risky social media sensation who loves sharing his storm-chasing experiences online. This new version of the story seems to have a different approach compared to the original movie’s script.

As the stormy weather becomes more severe, Kate, Tyler, and their rival groups are engaged in a struggle for survival, since several storms are colliding over central Oklahoma.
