Gina Rodriguez Calls Jane The Virgin Co-Star Justin Baldoni ‘A Sweetie Pie’ Following His Controversy With Blake Lively

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that the bond between Gina Rodriguez and Justin Baldoni, as portrayed in Jane the Virgin, is not just limited to the screen. Their friendship transcends the boundaries of their roles and has become a beautiful testament to the power of camaraderie in the entertainment industry.

More casually, Gina Rodriguez recently sang high praises for her Jane the Virgin co-star Justin Baldoni. Looking back on their time together on the show and their strong friendship, Rodriguez shared that she considers Baldoni as one of the cast members she keeps in close contact with. She even went so far as to call him a ‘brother’ figure.

In a chat with PEOPLE magazine, actress Gina Rodriguez reminisced about her time on Jane the Virgin, a show that celebrates its 10th anniversary in October. She also spoke about her enduring friendship with Justin Baldoni, who portrayed the character of Jane Gloriana Villanueva’s love interest, Rafael Solano, on the show.

She shared with the media outlet, “Justin is an incredibly kind person. Honestly, he’s like a sweet little treat,” and further stated, “He’s my brother for life, for all eternity.” Rodriguez highlighted that Baldoni is the cast member she communicates with the “most frequently,” maintaining regular contact not only with him but also with the entire group. She underscored, “Justin is simply my brother.

The actress also shared that reminiscing about the premiere of Jane the Virgin makes her feel somewhat “aged,” but what quickly follows is a desire for a “reunion” event. She passionately conveyed how much she “absolutely adored” working on the series and found the entire experience to be incredibly special, adding that the cast and show were nothing short of “awesome,” “unconventional,” and “exceptionally unique.

Actress Miss Bella expressed that every moment on set was “perfectly wonderful,” despite the challenges they faced, such as grueling 16-hour workdays, energy depletion, and missed family events like birthdays, holidays, and vacations. However, she made a conscious effort to understand why she had to sacrifice these moments and cherished them all the same.

Recently, Justin Baldoni shared a collection of backstage photos on Instagram celebrating the fifth anniversary of the finale for their successful series, which included Rodriguez, Yael Grobglas, and Jaime Camil.

Apart from acting, the performer also penned a touching message commemorating the series’ enduring impact, expressing astonishment at the fact that five years have passed since filming concluded. He further mentioned his ongoing amazement at the affection and encouragement they still receive, adding that these expressions always fill him with happiness to learn how much the show has resonated with countless individuals.

The actor added, “Thank you to everyone who made this show a part of their lives. And to my TV family, who will always be family to me.”
