Gina Carano Uses Presidential Debate To Roast Mark Hamill

As a long-time gamer and Star Wars fan, I must admit that the ongoing drama between Gina Carano and Mark Hamill has taken a chunk out of my once unbridled enthusiasm for this beloved franchise. It’s like watching a real-life lightsaber battle unfold, but with less Jedi mind tricks and more social media jabs.

Gina Carano has been making headlines recently not because of her acting career, but due to her ongoing dispute with her previous employer, Disney. Known for her role as Cara Dune on the highly successful show ‘The Mandalorian’, Carano was expected to have a spinoff. However, this changed after Carano posted a series of controversial tweets that compared COVID-19 restrictions to the Holocaust.

The actress faced issues with the company too, due to her decision not to include pronouns in her X profile (previously known as Twitter). She has stated that this led to her undergoing a form of re-education. Consequently, it’s clear that her contract was not extended further.

After being removed from the show and possibly missing out on a rose, the actress opted to file a lawsuit against Disney, demanding compensation or reinstatement, as she alleges she was dismissed because of her political views – which she claims is unjust discrimination. Elon Musk is reportedly funding this legal action, and the latest development in the case is that Carano has scored a minor but impactful victory during the proceedings. The court has decided to move forward with the lawsuit, despite Disney’s efforts to have it dismissed from court.

The judge made clear that the media company does not employ performers primarily to uphold a positive public image, so the case will move forward towards a trial or settlement. Subsequently, Carano continues to ridicule Disney and those who previously supported her termination, and it appears that Hamill is now among Carano’s latest targets (once more).

On September 10, the initial confrontation between Vice President Kamala Harris and ex-President Donald Trump unfolded in Philadelphia. This encounter was overseen by ABC News and delved into a variety of subjects such as the economy, abortion, immigration, racial issues, and prolonged past the scheduled 90 minutes.

Before the debate, I hit up X wondering where to catch it since I don’t have cable. Funny thing is, I ended up streaming it on Disney or Hulu! When folks pointed that out, I couldn’t help but laugh.

I’m just disappointed @MarkHamill didn’t invite me over for a watch party. 🤣

Mark Hamill and Gina Carano have fundamentally different political viewpoints, making them unlikely allies. Known for his liberal stance, Mark Hamill has been outspoken about various social and political issues, frequently championing progressive causes while criticizing conservative policies. He has used his influence to promote causes like climate change action, gun control, and social justice, positions that align with liberal perspectives on these matters. Given Carano’s conservative leanings, it seems they don’t share a close bond, even though they are both associated with the highly successful franchise.

On previous occasions, Carano has taken issue with Hamill. Previously, the actress referred to him as an “insulting pile of garbage,” stemming from what seemed like Hamill making fun of former U.S. President Donald Trump during prayer time.

As a gamer, I can’t help but feel moved by the story unfolding here. Just days ago, a fellow human being was attacked, teetering on the edge of life and death. Remarkably, another individual sacrificed himself, taking that bullet to protect his family.

Previously, Carano had criticized Disney, Lucasfilm, and Jack Black following an incident where Black laughed and supported Kyle Gass’s joking remark about wanting a second assassin to kill President Donald Trump. It’s evident that Carano is engaged in multiple battles.
