Nickelodeon is growing the Avatar world by introducing a new animated series called “Avatar: Seven Havens,” which was created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. This is the newest addition to the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” series, following “The Legend of Korra” and an upcoming Aang movie set for theaters.

A New Avatar Rises

The story of “Avatar: Seven Havens” unfolds in a world scarred by a catastrophic event. A young Earthbender finds herself as the new Avatar, succeeding Korra, but in this perilous age, being called an Avatar signifies her as a potential destroyer rather than a savior of humanity. Pursued by both human and spiritual adversaries, she and her unknown twin must delve into their enigmatic past to reveal the truth about themselves and save the Seven Havens before the remaining strongholds crumble.

The upcoming series is set to be a 2D animation produced by Avatar Studios, divided into two books with 13 half-hour episodes each for both Book 1 and Book 2, making a total of 26 episodes. Ian DiMartino and Michael Konietzko resume their roles as executive producers, joined by Ethan Spaulding and co-executive producer Sehaj Sethi.

The announcement has been made as “Avatar: The Last Airbender” reaches its 20th anniversary, and Nickelodeon is commemorating this milestone with digital content, fresh merchandise, live events, and an upcoming unnamed animated film featuring Aang. This movie, starring Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, and Eric Nam, is planned for a theater release on January 30, 2026.
