Enthusiasts of Godzilla will experience their first immersive theme park adventure this December, as Lotte World Adventure unveils “Kong x Godzilla: The Ride” in Seoul, South Korea. This attraction, developed in partnership with Legendary Entertainment and TOHO, breathes life into the Monsterverse through a colossal new multimedia dark ride.
What to Expect
Instead of the existing Jungle Adventure, Lotte World’s latest attraction will represent its largest financial commitment ever. This thrilling ride sees Kong and Godzilla join forces to safeguard their realm. As per Lotte World CEO Oh-Sang Kwon, the ride has been engineered to immerse riders in a complete sensory experience using popular movie franchises as its basis.
Kong vs Godzilla: The Ride promises an engaging journey into the realm of globally recognized film intellectual properties. Lotte World Adventure has consistently pioneered innovation in theme parks by tackling diverse challenges, and we are committed to delivering fresh experiences for our guests,” stated Kwon.
Monsterverse Expands
The journey of this ride is part of the expanding Monsterverse created by Legendary. Launched with the release of Godzilla in 2014, the franchise now boasts five films under its belt and has amassed over $2.5 billion globally. Its most recent production, Godzilla vs Kong: Shining Empire, holds the record as the highest-grossing film in the series and the biggest Godzilla movie to date.
A new movie titled “Godzilla x Kong: Supernova” is currently being produced, scheduled for release in 2027. In addition to these films, the “Monsterverse” universe also features the Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters“, with a second season on its way, as well as video games, toys, comics, and immersive live events.
This journey represents the initial foray of the Monsterverse into amusement parks, providing fans with an innovative method to engage with Godzilla and Kong in dynamic settings.
