The new teaser is largely a shorter version of the previous trailer, but it does include a few fresh glimpses of Lobo. We see a close-up of him, cigar in hand, riding his iconic space motorcycle and causing trouble in a rundown, gritty neighborhood reminiscent of Coruscant. There’s also a brief clip of Supergirl calling him a vulgar name, reflecting the general opinion of the character in the comics.
One of the biggest strengths is how closely the makeup and costume resemble Lobo from the comics. Jason Momoa also perfectly captures Lobo’s personality and energy – he even brought that same vibe to his role as Aquaman. However, the current visual style is a weakness. It’s overly bright and uses a lot of digital lighting, giving everything a yellow tint. It unfortunately reminds me of the final scenes from Joss Whedon’s Justice League. These shots don’t really feel like they belong in a big-budget movie, and even Momoa’s costume looks similar to what we saw on the Syfy show Krypton.

This short clip is just a sneak peek, and the full movie isn’t coming out for several months. We haven’t seen much of the character Lobo yet, which suggests that part of the film was either shot or finished later in the production process. It seems likely Lobo will make a special appearance rather than play a major role. So, let’s give it the benefit of the doubt – it could look better when the movie is completed. Personally, it’s not quite grabbing my attention right now, but others might feel differently.
Supergirl hits theaters June 26, 2026.
