As a dedicated fan of George Clooney‘s witty antics, I must say that his prankster persona off-screen is as captivating as his on-screen charm. The man knows how to keep us entertained! Who would have thought that the suave and sophisticated George Clooney is also a master of sending hilarious letters in the name of celebrities like Bill Clinton, Brad Pitt, and even Tom Cruise? It’s a wonder no one has caught on yet!
In various films, George Clooney has often portrayed reserved characters, but it’s his playful, mischievous side that truly defines him off-screen. On Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actor revealed his fondness for playing harmless pranks on his colleagues and friends.
On the air during the September 17, 2024 broadcast, the celebrity disclosed that he enjoys writing letters and disguising them as if they came from various individuals or performers. According to Clooney, he has even penned letters to his friends, signing them as former president Bill Clinton.
Mentioning a past incident where talk show host Jimmy Kimmel once presented him with sham stationery from 78-year-old Clinton and Brad Pitt, among others, Clooney continued by stating that he often picks the worst film of an actor’s career and makes light of it in his humorous correspondence.
George commented, “The movie with Brad Pitt was intense,” further mentioning that he’d shared it with both Don Cheadle and Tom Cruise, the iconic star of Mission: Impossible.
In a conversation, Clooney shared that he forwarded the proposal for “Interview with the Vampire 2” to Tom Cruise. He also revealed that in his correspondence, he noted that this time, Brad Pitt expressed interest in portraying the character of Lestat.
In addition, Jimmy Kimmel also chimed in, stating that this afternoon, Brad Pitt himself confirmed that Tom Hanks contacted him, and that Pitt accepted the role of Lestat.
Initially, the actor from Bullet Train wasn’t aware of the activities of the actor from Days of Thunder. In response, he asked, “What do you mean?” as mentioned by Kimmel.
Not just Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise were victims of Clooney’s pranks, but also Meryl Streep. In fact, she received a letter along with a package of CDs from George Clooney, which was intended to help her learn a new dialect for the movie “Burn After Reading.
For those not aware, Tom Cruise and the Mr. & Mrs. Smith actor appeared together in the 1994 film, “Interview with the Vampire.” In this movie, they portrayed two vampires who navigated life during the 18th and 19th centuries.
In this movie, the actress who played a young Spider-Man alongside Kirsten Dunst was relatively young as well. More recently, Brad Pitt and George Clooney had a joint appearance in the film titled “Wolves”.
On September 20, Wolf’s premiered in select cinemas. Starting from September 27, it will be available on Apple TV+.
