In his recent chat with Gayle King, Clooney gracefully addressed being labeled as a “phony film actor” by the former U.S. President on Truth Social.
On CBS Mornings, George Clooney made an appearance to discuss his upcoming Broadway premiere in Good Night and Good Luck. During this chat, he was asked about the nickname Donald Trump had given him on that same platform (social media).
In a recent statement, George Clooney, who was in Ocean’s Eleven, expressed that he doesn’t feel the need to cater to the president. He further clarified that he has had a long-standing relationship with Trump. Clooney went on to say, “It’s not my duty to make the President of the United States happy. My role is to share the truth whenever I can and when the chance arises.
The performer acknowledged understanding the concept that some people might dislike it and would voice their criticism. Clooney also informed King that Elon Musk had expressed his opinion on the matter. Additionally, he emphasized that it’s within everyone’s rights to have differing views, and he was entitled to express his own perspective as well.
For those not in the know, last year, George Clooney wrote an opinion piece for The New York Times. In it, he called upon former U.S. President Joe Biden to withdraw his candidacy as the Democratic presidential nominee, according to Variety’s report.
