George Clooney Opens Up About the Time Frank Sinatra Lost His Cool & Yelled At Him

George Clooney recently recounted a funny story about when he first started out in Hollywood and unexpectedly met Frank Sinatra.

I was so captivated watching George Clooney at the premiere of his new movie, Jay Kelly in Los Angeles on October 23rd. He shared some really thoughtful insights about what’s guided him throughout his career and how he now defines success – it was truly inspiring to hear.

George Clooney shared a story about his early days in Hollywood, when he worked as a driver for his singer aunt, Rosemary.

As part of that job, I had the incredible opportunity to drive around legends like Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra! I even told People magazine about it. Spending a year with those guys really taught me a lot about how to deal with both success and failure – it was a real life lesson, and honestly, it shaped how I look at things now.

Clooney shared a memorable story about a time Frank Sinatra scolded him. Sinatra was frustrated with a press boycott Clooney had organized, and called him to say it wasn’t effective. Clooney fondly recalled the moment, laughing as he said, “I got yelled at by Frank Sinatra!”

Clooney emphasized how these early experiences shaped his approach to fame and staying grounded.

He explained that he’s been friends with most of his circle for four decades, recalling times when they supported him through tough financial periods. He also noted they’re quick to ground him when he starts to believe his own hype, and aren’t afraid to tell him when people are being dishonest or exaggerating.

Even when he was just starting out and meeting all these famous actors in Hollywood, it was obvious George Clooney was a quick learner. He really seemed to pick up on the importance of staying humble, never giving up, and always valuing the people he cared about – and you can still see that in him today!
