HoYoverse has shared that they will be discontinuing updates for Genshin Impact on PlayStation 4 in the not too distant future. As of April 8, 2026, the open-world RPG will no longer receive any further updates on this last-generation console.
Starting on September 10, 2025, Genshin Impact will no longer be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store for PS4. This means that players won’t be able to add it to their library from this date forward. Additionally, all in-game purchases within the game will cease on February 25, 2026, marking the final step before support for the game is discontinued completely.
HoYoverse explained that their decision was due to constraints linked to the device’s processing power and the app’s storage capacity on certain platforms. However, the PlayStation 5 version will proceed as planned.
At the same time as this action, the developer raised the minimum requirements for the game on both mobile and computer systems to facilitate the ongoing growth and evolution of the game.

- OS: Windows 10 64-bit*
- CPU: 6th Generation Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen series or equivalent*
- RAM: 8 GB
- Discrete Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1050 or equivalent*
- Core Graphics Card: Intel Iris Xe or equivalent*
- DirectX Version: 11

- ARMv8-A 64-bit architecture
- Non-PowerVR GPU
- SoC: Snapdragon 660 (Adreno 610) or Helio G88 (Mali-G52) and above*

New Genshin Impact system requirements – iOS
- Devices: iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone X, iPad mini (5th generation) or iPad Air (3rd generation) or iPad (8th generation) and later models
- SoC: iPhone devices with Apple A11 SoC or later, or iPad devices with Apple A12 SoC or above
- RAM: 3 GB or more
- Operating System: iOS 13.0 and above (Bluetooth controller support requires iOS 14 or above)*

In the upcoming Version 6.0, Genshin Impact is set to explore the area known as Nod-Krai. Characters Lauma, Flins, and Aino have been officially announced as the new additions in the upcoming update.
