Genshin Impact now shows real prices for pulls and will require age verification in the U.S.

The recently released Update 5.6 for Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android platforms. Players residing in the United States may have observed some significant alterations within the store and banner menus: Genshin Impact now displays actual prices of the items.

When buying Genesis Crystals, additional details reveal the value of pulls per pack and clearly display the price of a single pull for each offer. On the game’s main screen, it indicates the possible cost in real money to acquire the highlighted 5-Star character or weapon, which can range from $1.98 to $475.2 USD for characters, or between $1.98 and $422.4 USD for weapons.

Instead of buying Genesis Crystals and then using them for Intertwined Fate (the game’s term for gacha pulls), players have the option to buy Intertwined Fate directly with real money.

HoYoverse has announced that all U.S. players must confirm their age by July 18, 2025. They aim to implement this age verification system for everyone by May 20, 2025. It’s essential for every player to go through the age confirmation process, as inactive accounts without verified ages will be temporarily deactivated after the deadline, and eventually deleted a few days afterward.

These alterations are due to HoYoverse’s recent encounter with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), followed by a settlement that concluded their legal proceedings. As per the terms of this settlement, HoYoverse agreed to enhance price clarity and safeguards specifically designed for younger players.

Players outside of the United States will not have to take any action for the moment.
