Genshin Impact 5.8 banners: Ineffa debuts

The much-anticipated annual summer festival is fast approaching, and a hint of what’s in store for us next: Genshin Impact’s Version 5.8 is nearly here, and HoYoverse has revealed which 5-Star characters will see an increase in their appearance rate on the game’s banners.

In the role as the lone newcomer, all focus will shift towards Ineffa – the pioneering character hailing from the forthcoming region, Nod-Krai. Being the initial inorganic character within the game, she stands out significantly compared to the typical denizens of Teyvat, as she is an ancient robot. Simultaneously, players can anticipate a series of reappearing banners showcasing established characters from the past.

Genshin Impact 5.8 banners: Phase 1

Beginning on June 30, 2025, the release of update 5.8 will make it possible for players on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android devices to summon these specific characters:

Ineffa

Ineffa discharges Electronic Damage and generates protective barriers for her teammates. She also brings additional off-field abilities, summoning more robotic aid. Ineffa excels at synergizing with water-based characters, transforming Electro-Charged interactions into unique Lunar-Charged interactions that scale with Attack rather than Elemental Mastery. These interactions create persistent Thunderclouds on the battlefield, triggering further reactions, offering a sneak peek of what Nod-Krai’s roster will bring.

Citlali

Introducing Citlali, a remarkable character who combines defensive abilities and Cryo DMG outside the battlefield. She’s an ideal choice for any team seeking such a character. Particularly effective when paired with Pyro or Hydro allies, she can make enemies more vulnerable to these elements by reducing their resistance.

Genshin Impact 5.8 banners: Phase 2

In exactly three weeks, during the midway point of the game’s version on August 20, 2025, the banners will be updated. This change will introduce new playable characters to the game.

  • Banner #3: Chasca (5-Star, Anemo, Bow) and three 4-Star characters
  • Banner #4: Mualani (5-Star, Hydro, Catalyst) and three 4-Star characters

Chasca

Chasca skillfully wields various elemental abilities; overhead in combat, she amplifies her strikes using the combined elemental might of her comrades, thereby initiating potent Swirl effects independently.

Mualani

Mualani’s fighting technique is swift and aggressive, spinning rapidly on her Sharky Surfboard to identify opponents and inflict additional Hydro damage upon them. Unlike many others, she doesn’t focus on specific reactions but rather demonstrates the strength of her basic attacks by staying actively engaged in combat.
