Gene Hackman’s Final Autopsy Report Reveals Disturbing Details: Actor Hadn’t Eaten for Days

Trigger warning: This article contains mentions of death.

The autopsy report on Gene Hackman, conducted by the Office of the Medical Investigator in New Mexico and recently acquired by Fox News, unveiled surprising findings. The report indicated small quantities of acetone in his body.

According to MedicalNewsToday, the report stated that the colorless solvent could be attributed to ketoacidosis caused by diabetes and fasting, as well as a metabolic product resulting from consuming isopropanol.

On February 26, Hackman and his spouse, Betsy Arakawa, were tragically discovered deceased within their Santa Fe residence. It has been confirmed that Arakawa, who was solely responsible for caring for the elderly actor, sadly passed away approximately a week prior to his passing.

Fox News disclosed that Hackman’s acetone level, found in a toxicology report, was significantly higher at 5.3 mg/dl compared to the usual range of up to 0.3 mg/dL. The high solvent level was attributed to extended periods without eating (prolonged fasting).

Based on recent news, it appears that the actor who portrayed Superman experienced “heart failure due to congestive issues” and developed “long-term changes related to high blood pressure in the kidneys.” In March, Dr. Heather Jarrell, New Mexico’s Chief Medical Examiner, addressed the cause of death for both Arakawa and Hackman during a press conference.

It’s been confirmed that the actor died due to complications from hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer’s disease played a major role in his passing. In Arakawa’s case, she was reported to have succumbed to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome.

Initially, there was speculation that a gas leak might have led to the tragic death of the couple. However, upon deeper examination, this theory was disproven. The news of their untimely deaths left everyone in shock and moved their friends and family to express heartfelt condolences.

With deep regret, we share the heartbreaking news of the demise of our beloved father, Gene Hackman, along with his cherished spouse, Betsy. This was the sentiment expressed by Elizabeth, Leslie, and their granddaughter, Annie, in a statement they issued.
