Gene Hackman Reportedly Lived With His Wife Betsy Arakawa’s Dead Body for a Week Before His Death

After the unfortunate deaths of Gene Hakcman and Betsy Arakawa, recent findings have come to light. During a press briefing on March 7, 2025, Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza disclosed that the Academy Award-winning actor had been residing by himself for seven days alongside his wife’s deceased body before he passed away.

Additionally, Dr. Heather Jarrell, New Mexico’s Chief Medical Examiner, stated that Gene Hackman‘s passing was due to hypertensive and atherosclerotic heart disease. Furthermore, she pointed out signs of advanced Alzheimer’s disease in his body, which greatly contributed to the actor’s demise.

According to Page Six, Dr. Jarrell hinted that, given Gene Hackman’s mental condition, there was a chance he might not have been aware of Betsy Arakawa’s demise and may have unknowingly carried on living with her remains.

The autopsy on Gene Hackman revealed no traces of food in his body. In contrast, Betsy Arakawa passed away due to hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS), an uncommon virus spread by rodents, which was not the cause of Gene Hackman’s death as he expired naturally.

At the press conference, the authorities shared some concerning findings – they’d spotted indicators suggesting rodents had infiltrated our beloved star’s abode, potentially signaling a hantavirus risk. And as if that wasn’t enough, my heart ached hearing Dr. Jarrell confirm long-standing heart disease had been a silent, relentless factor in his untimely demise.

As a devoted admirer, I can confirm that on the 17th of February, 2025, my pacemaker, which I had been using, registered its last event. The authorities have suggested, and it appears, that this was the day when the great Gene Hackman departed from our world.

Although it hasn’t been definitively proven that Gene Hackman passed away due to a heart attack, Dr. Jarell noted that he exhibited an irregular heartbeat, which could suggest heart-related issues.

In our New Mexico household, I’m sad to say that one of our beloved canine family members, Zinna, had unfortunately passed away. As per the insights shared by New Mexico State Public Health Veterinarian Dr. Erin Phipps, it seems plausible that Zinna may have succumbed due to starvation.
