It appears that a store in New York is currently under investigation by GameStop due to some questionable activities, as reported in several online sources recently.

The original information stemmed from a social media post, where an individual claimed that a shop in New York was compelling gamers to purchase various items such as bundles, cases, and screen protectors, which apparently goes against regulations. The social media post reads as follows:

“A store in NY is making players buy bundles, cases, screen protectors, etc., which shouldn’t be allowed.

It seems that GameStop is making customers buy console bundles, cases, screen protectors, and more instead of just the console itself. They claim they can’t process a single SKU for the console, but it appears there may be other reasons at play.

For myself, I only want Donkey Kong and a screen protector, so it’s not a major issue. However, some customers are finding this practice inconvenient and are expressing their dissatisfaction.
