It appears that renowned author George R.R. Martin has grown tired of the continuous inquiries regarding his time management, and he’s not shy about acknowledging that the long-awaited book, “Winds of Winter,” has been delayed for 13 years.
For those unfamiliar, Martin generated much discussion lately by standing alongside genetic recreations of dire wolves. According to news articles, these wolves, believed to be extinct, have been brought back through biotechnology. The dire wolves were pivotal characters in Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire book series.
Fans of his began playfully commenting that they received authentic direwolves before the release of The Winds of Winter book.
In a chat with Time magazine, the writer was inquired about similar remarks regarding his book. He expressed, “It’s a struggle” that he faces in life. Martin clarified, “There’s no denying that The Winds of Winter is over a decade late. I am still laboring on it.
He mentioned that there are times when he advances on projects, but often other tasks distract him, and then unexpectedly, he’s faced with a deadline for an HBO series. Essentially, he has other commitments to attend to.
According to the report, his additional endeavors encompass a refurbished cinema and a freshly established bookstore. He did hint that these ventures require time, however, he clarified that the progress on his book and other businesses operate independently.
In response to an inquiry, the author humorously expressed, “Indeed, they ask, ‘Why is George R.R. Martin starting a bookstore instead of finishing The Winds of Winter?’ But rest assured, I’m not managing the store personally.
Martin clarified that when you step into the bookstore, he won’t be processing your purchase. He mentioned that he owns a theater, but his role isn’t operating the projector. The author hinted that perhaps people are underestimating the amount of effort he invests in those activities.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself compelled to clarify a recent statement that has sparked some confusion. Concerning the forthcoming book, some speculate that the photograph with the direwolf may have significantly impacted its progress. However, I must emphasize that it’s not an either-or situation. The photo-op did not pose a serious impediment to the development of the book, as it seems some might believe. Instead, both elements coexist harmoniously, each contributing uniquely to the overall project.
